Flying Lion Introduces Remote Staffing Solution for Round-the-Clock DFR Operations
Flying Lion Launches Remote Staffing Service for Drone Operations
Flying Lion has introduced a new Remote Staffing Service aimed at assisting public safety and security organizations in operating Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs continuously.
Service Overview
Unveiled at the National Real Time Crime Center Association conference in Phoenix, this service integrates remote pilots with Flying Lion’s proprietary pilot management software. It enables agencies to enhance their existing teams, address staffing shortages, initiate new programs, or outsource remote pilot operations.
Remote pilots can operate within an agency’s Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) or Security Operations Center (SOC), and they can also provide support remotely through Flying Lion. The company offers both sworn and unsworn pilots, including current or recently retired law enforcement personnel when necessary.
Platform-Agnostic Support
Flying Lion emphasizes that its pilots are cross-trained on various DFR hardware and software platforms, allowing agencies to utilize the staffing service without needing to alter their current technology.
Barry Brennan, Founder and President of Flying Lion, stated, “One of the biggest advantages of Flying Lion’s Remote Staffing Service is that we’re not tied to any specific drone, dock, or software platform. Our team can seamlessly support virtually any combination of hardware and software an agency chooses to deploy. By pairing that flexibility with highly trained remote pilots, we help agencies expand drone operations into true 24/7 DFR and security programs.”
The service can provide both scheduled and on-demand staffing, and it is capable of supporting cross-jurisdictional and multi-agency operations.
Flight Workflow Management
Flying Lion’s software manages several aspects of the flight workflow, including:
- Dispatching flights
- Tracking call dispositions
- Maintaining communications with dispatchers and watch commanders
- Supporting airspace awareness during Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations
- Generating end-of-day reports
Addressing Staffing Challenges
As agencies expand their DFR programs, staffing levels can significantly impact the availability of these systems. Flying Lion positions its new service as a solution to extend coverage without necessitating the development of a large internal pilot team.
Organizations can utilize remote staffing to supplement their personnel or to fill unexpected gaps. The service is also designed to support new programs during their initial operations or to provide fully outsourced remote pilot staffing.
