GeoComm and SkyfireAI have announced a new integration designed to enhance the effectiveness of (DFR) programs in responding to emergency calls. This collaboration combines GeoComm’s DFR Routing technology with SkyfireAI’s autonomous drone platform, providing public safety agencies with comprehensive location intelligence from the moment a 9-1-1 call is received.

The integration addresses a significant challenge faced by DFR programs. While many agencies can deploy drones quickly after an emergency call, the successful response requires accurate information about the incident’s location and the best access routes for responders.

Rather than relying solely on map coordinates, the new system incorporates operational details such as nearby buildings, campuses, access routes, and contextual information. This added data can assist drone operators and first responders in forming a clearer understanding of the situation before ground units arrive.

Advancements in DFR Routing Technology

GeoComm introduced its DFR Routing technology earlier this year at the NENA 2026 Annual Conference & Expo. This platform utilizes the company’s public safety mapping data to convert emergency dispatch information into routing specifically designed for DFR operations.

The routing data is integrated directly into SkyfireAI’s platform, which offers AI-driven mission planning, autonomous flight operations, remote flight services, and multi- management. SkyfireAI has established itself as a prominent provider in the expanding DFR market, supporting municipal programs and developing software aimed at reducing operator workload while enabling agencies to scale their drone operations.
