MatrixSpace Validated in U.S. Army Operation Jailbreak
MatrixSpace has received validation from the U.S. Army for its integration with the Anduril Lattice and Integrated Battle Command System-Maneuver (IBCS-M) during Operation Jailbreak. This operation is recognized as the Army’s largest initiative to incorporate emerging technologies into command-and-control environments.
The validation took place at Fort Carson, Colorado, where MatrixSpace demonstrated its sensor stack within the Anduril Lattice for Air Defense platform. Operation Jailbreak commenced in May 2026 and aims to enhance interoperability between legacy and new systems, supporting the Army’s Right to Integrate (R2I) initiative. The operation involved collaboration among engineers from 55 defense and technology companies, including notable firms such as Lockheed Martin, Palantir, Boeing, and Anduril Industries.
Details of MatrixSpace’s Validation
During the operation, MatrixSpace showcased a documented software interface, published an open API to the new API Marketplace, and demonstrated heartbeat connectivity, data streaming, and asset control through a REST interface. The company indicated that much of the foundational work was completed prior to this validation as part of Project Flytrap 5.0.
U.S. Army Chief Technology Officer Dr. Alex Miller emphasized the significance of Operation Jailbreak, stating, “Jailbreak looks backwards and broader to the wide array of systems that the Army has in the inventory to open those systems up and break them away from the bespoke or archaic configurations they have had in the past.”
Importance of Operation Jailbreak
Operation Jailbreak is crucial for the Army’s efforts to modernize its compartmentalized, decades-old weapons systems, sensors, and drones, enabling them to communicate on a unified network. Vendors participating in the initiative are required to expose open APIs, provide technical and security documentation, and integrate their systems with Lattice in support of IBCS-M.
Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll attended Distinguished Visitors Day, which included CEOs from the participating companies, highlighting the collaborative nature of this initiative.
MatrixSpace specializes in portable radar systems and an AI software platform designed for low airspace awareness. Their technology provides edge-to-cloud intelligence capable of detecting, tracking, and identifying airborne objects in real time, supporting counter-drone protection for public safety, defense, and infrastructure security teams.
