After his illegal drone flight over Disney World in Florida, the 40-year-old drone pilot received a trespassing warning. According to the Orlando Sentinel, a guard from Disney World saw the unmanned hovering about 100 feet from Cinderella’s Castle. The unidentified Floridian drone pilot was caught by an off-duty Orange County deputy. The illegal drone flight over Disney World happened on May 20th, 2020.

Along with the Disney guard, several police officers rushed to the scene and confronted the drone pilot.

“I asked him why he was in a parking lot of an apartment complex he did not live in and standing behind trees out of view from Reams Road. He did not have a clear answer to the question,” the deputy said in the incident report, the Orlando Sentinel shared.

The drone pilot was forced to promise that he would delete the aerial footage of Disney World. He was, however, not arrested for a crime after his illegal drone flight, but merely issued a trespass warning according to the report.

“I didn’t think I was doing anything wrong,” the drone pilot said.

“Obviously I can’t post them [drone photos]. I had to tell Disney I would delete them as a favor,” he said. “I don’t want to get into more trouble with Disney.”
