SimActive Unveils Significant Updates to Aerial Triangulation in Correlator3D Version 11.1

Montreal developer overhauls tie point extraction, bundle adjustment and multi-camera workflows in the latest Correlator3D release.

SimActive has announced the release of Correlator3D Version 11.1, an update focused on enhancing aerial triangulation capabilities. The new version aims to improve tie point extraction, accelerate bundle adjustment processes, and introduce tools for validating image connectivity, thereby enhancing .

What’s New in Correlator3D Aerial Triangulation

According to SimActive, the latest version delivers more reliable results on challenging datasets through enhanced tie point extraction and improved visual feedback during processing. Key features of the update include:

  • Faster single-pass bundle adjustment.
  • New link filtering tools for inspecting connections between overlapping images.
  • Enhanced diagnostics for weak geometry to prevent degradation of final outputs.

Additionally, the update simplifies the management of multi-camera projects by eliminating the need for camera mount configuration during project setup. This change is expected to reduce setup time for oblique and multispectral rigs. The new version also includes direct georeferencing and assisted RTK/PPK processing, allowing users to define position uncertainty for improved control over onboard positioning data.

CTO on the Version 11.1 Update

Louis Simard, chief technology officer at SimActive, stated, “Version 11.1 represents a major update to aerial triangulation in Correlator3D.” He emphasized that users can achieve more robust results on challenging projects while benefiting from faster processing and enhanced visual tools for data and validation.

July 9 Webinar on Aerial Triangulation

SimActive will showcase the new tools in a live webinar titled “Improving Through Aerial Triangulation With New Correlator3D Version 11.1,” scheduled for Thursday, July 9, 2026. The session will be hosted by Michael O’Sullivan, vice president of sales at SimActive, alongside David Alamillo, a specialist. Two sessions are planned: one at 10 a.m. Central European Time and another at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.

Correlator3D is utilized for aerial triangulation and the generation of dense digital surface models, digital terrain models, point clouds, orthomosaics, and 3D models from various imagery sources, including drones, aerial, and satellite images. The platform is employed by mapping firms, surveyors, and government agencies across more than 100 countries.
