New Intelic Platform Enhances Speed of Drone Deployment for European Militaries
New Hub Aims to Enhance Deployment and Interoperability of European Defense Systems
A European defense technology company has launched a new platform intended to assist governments in the rapid identification and deployment of unmanned systems.

Intelic, based in Amsterdam, announced the launch of Intelic BASE on May 4, 2026. This platform serves as a procurement hub for Ministries of Defense across Europe, aiming to streamline the process of identifying and deploying mission-ready drones.
At its inception, Intelic BASE connects manufacturers from ten countries, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Portugal, Latvia, Luxembourg, Lithuania, and Czechia. The platform provides governments with direct visibility into available systems within the European defense industrial base.
The initiative has been developed with contributions from various European Ministries of Defense.
A Central Hub for European Drone Capabilities
The platform unites a coalition of European partners, including companies such as Acecore Technologies, Airvolute, Avy, Beyond Vision, DeltaQuad, Height Technologies, Highcat, and TAF Industries. These companies represent a diverse geographic range and cover multiple mission types.
The capabilities offered by these partners include intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), strike systems, and counter-UAS technologies. Additionally, the consortium includes several unnamed Ukrainian partners, whose identities are withheld for security reasons. Collectively, these companies produce over 100,000 UAVs monthly and generate more than $1.5 billion in sales, underscoring the scale and expertise of Ukraine’s defense industry.
Inspired by Ukraine’s Procurement Model
Intelic BASE is noted as the first platform of its kind in Europe, drawing inspiration from procurement models utilized in Ukraine. These models enable defense ministries to compare drone systems in a centralized location, thereby reducing the time required to identify needs and deploy systems.
In light of increased defense spending by European governments in response to Russia’s war in Ukraine, the fragmented procurement processes across Europe can hinder deployment and limit visibility into available systems.
“Europe already has the industrial capacity and battlefield-proven drone technologies it needs,” stated Maurits Korthals Altes, CEO of Intelic. “What has been missing is a shared operational layer that makes those capabilities visible, interoperable, and deployable across borders. Strengthening that connection is essential for a stronger Europe.”
Interoperability Built Into the Platform
A significant feature of Intelic BASE is its integration with Nexus, a shared command-and-control software layer that enables unmanned systems from different manufacturers to operate collaboratively in a single mission.
Nexus has been operational in Ukraine since 2025, allowing systems from various providers to function as a unified force across different mission types. By addressing interoperability from the outset, the platform aims to mitigate integration risks, facilitating faster deployment of systems by defense ministries.
This approach reflects a broader trend in Europe, where governments are increasingly focusing on coalition operations and shared capabilities.
Supporting a More Connected Defense Ecosystem
Traditional procurement processes often require governments to evaluate vendors individually, with integration challenges typically addressed later in the process. In contrast, Intelic BASE allows ministries to explore systems designed for joint operations from the beginning.
The platform also connects governments directly with manufacturers, eliminating intermediaries and reseller layers. This streamlining of the procurement process is intended to enhance efficiency and responsiveness within the defense ecosystem, promoting stronger coordination across Europe’s industrial base.
About Intelic
Intelic is a European defense technology company dedicated to improving collaboration between governments and defense innovators. Its Nexus software provides a platform-agnostic control layer for unmanned systems, which has been deployed in Ukraine since 2025. Intelic is also anticipated to partner with the Netherlands Armed Forces for UxV control efforts later this year.
