Robin Radar Appoints Homeland Security and Defense Leaders to Drive U.S. Expansion
The Hague-based maker of the IRIS drone-detection radar adds senior US sales leadership and larger Virginia headquarters as homeland security demand grows.
Robin Radar Systems has expanded its operations in the United States with the appointment of senior personnel and the relocation to a larger office in Virginia. The company, which specializes in counter-drone radar technology, announced these developments on May 18, 2026, in response to increasing national security threats and federal investments in critical infrastructure.
The new hires include Brooks Davis, a former law enforcement officer, who has been appointed as Homeland Security Sales Director, and Jerry Courtney, a Silicon Valley sales expert, who will serve as Business Development Manager for Defense.
Senior US Hires Strengthen Counter-Drone Radar Sales
Davis brings valuable operational insights from his law enforcement background, while Courtney has extensive experience in scaling technology solutions within complex government environments.
The relocation to a larger office in Virginia will provide additional space for expanding both commercial and technical teams. This move is expected to enhance collaboration and engagement with government and security partners.
Kristian Brost, General Manager for North America, stated, “Expanding our US team is a key step in ensuring we can meet the growing demand for advanced radar solutions that protect both people and infrastructure. Brooks and Jerry bring exceptional expertise and credibility, strengthening our ability to support government and security agencies at a time when resilience and rapid response capabilities are more important than ever.”
Brost further emphasized the importance of investing in local talent, noting that it positions the company to deliver reliable detection systems where they are most needed.
IRIS Radar Heads to the FIFA World Cup
The expansion also supports the deployment of Robin Radar’s IRIS drone-detection radar for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in North America. The system will be utilized by components of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security alongside state and local agencies as part of counter-UAS operations.
IRIS is a specialized 3D drone-detection radar designed to identify small, fast, and low-flying threats, including FPV and dark drones, while differentiating them from birds and other airborne objects.
The radar secures a medium-range C-UAS layer, covering distances from 2 to 7 kilometers, with a Long Range Mode extending its range to 12 kilometers. This innovation has been driven by government contracts and the scale of deployments influenced by the situation in Ukraine. Recent coverage has highlighted the increasing attention from the FAA and DoD regarding drone operations near sensitive airspace, underscoring the need for reliable detection systems.
Robin Radar combines over 40 years of radar expertise with AI-powered software to provide 360-degree situational awareness. The company serves NATO, government agencies, and critical infrastructure operators globally, with IRIS being one of Europe’s most widely adopted off-the-shelf counter-drone radars.
