A recent operation by the Lakewood Police Department led to five arrests after agents employed a Skydio X10 drone to monitor three separate hand-to-hand drug transactions in real time. The operation took place last Saturday on Colfax Avenue, a location known for open-air drug use.

Instead of intervening immediately, officers deployed the drone to document the transactions from above. This approach allowed them to gather evidence without alerting the suspects. The drone captured footage of three transactions before agents moved in on the primary suspect, recovering 41 individual packages of fentanyl, suspected methamphetamine, and cash.

During the operation, two additional individuals were found to have active felony warrants, bringing the total number of arrests to five.
