Robin Radar Triples Capacity With New Counter-UAS Radar Facility
9,000-square-meter Delft headquarters expands radar development, production and support as global demand for drone detection grows
Robin Radar Systems has opened a new 9,000-square-meter headquarters in Delft, Netherlands, tripling its operational capacity. The facility will support radar research, engineering, production, testing and customer service.
The expansion follows the opening of a larger Robin Radar operations center in Northern Virginia in August. Together, the facilities increase the Dutch company’s capacity in Europe and North America.
Robin Radar says it has recorded 60% year-over-year growth for three consecutive years. The company now has more than 800 radar systems installed worldwide.
The Delft headquarters includes space for prototyping, specialized production, system integration, testing and service. Robin Radar also plans to work with manufacturing partners to increase series production.
Expanding Counter-UAS Production
Robin Radar expects to employ more than 300 people by the end of 2026. Its customer support and service capacity has increased fourfold. The headquarters is also near Delft University of Technology, providing access to engineering talent.
The company says feedback from operational deployments has helped shape improvements to its IRIS drone detection radar. These include a Long Range Mode that increased the system’s instrumented range from five kilometers to 12 kilometers. A new maritime capability also allows IRIS to operate aboard large vessels.
IRIS is designed to detect and track small, low-flying drones, including FPV and fixed-wing aircraft. It uses 3D radar and classification technology to distinguish drones from birds and other objects.
Robin Radar describes the Delft facility as an investment in European defense production. European governments are placing greater focus on regional supply chains and the ability to produce key defense technologies at scale.

Robin Radar has deployed IRIS systems for military, government and critical infrastructure applications. More than 30 IRIS radars were also deployed in North America to support security operations during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The larger Delft facility gives Robin Radar more room to turn field feedback into product updates while increasing production. Combined with its expanded U.S. operations, the investment positions the company to serve a growing international market for drone detection systems.
